The OC Plague club ice hockey team recruits individuals of all abilities to play exciting, fast-paced and hard-hitting hockey. The season begins in late October and concludes in March. Practices are held at two rinks in the surrounding area: Elyria's North Park Sports Complex, and Hamlton Ice Arena in Rocky River.
Generally practices occur on most Sunday evenings and a few Wednesday evenings. Games are played on weekends. Travel for away games is limited to Ohio. The club has seen outstanding growth in the last two seasons with increasing numbers of players and improved competitiveness of play. The team has recently been involved in the formation and joining of the CCCHL (Central Collegiate Club Hockey League) which includes 5 other schools: Kenyon, Wittenberg, Ohio Weslyan, Denison, and Northern Kentucky University.
The Hockey team became a club when they were demoted from varsity after the 1979 season. Currently they are independent, but are shopping around for a league that fits them.
