Leah Goldman
Leah traveled to Israel, learning Hebrew at Ben Gurion University of the Negev in Beer Sheva. Every morning, she took four hours of class, and practiced Hebrew by speaking with her Israeli roommates and conversing with people at the markets and stores.
She also volunteered at an Ethiopian Heritage Center for new immigrants to Israel and helped preteen Ethiopian girls with their English. During the month, she traveled throughout the country, and visited over a dozen different cities. She learned more about Israeli politics and culture by speaking with a diverse assortment of people about their experiences, and got into more than a few intense political discussions!
